Privacy Policy
This website is deliberately built to minimise data collection. It sets no tracking or advertising cookies, uses only cookieless reach measurement without IP storage and creates no user profiles. Below we explain what data is nevertheless processed, and why.
1. Controller
Appligent AI
Owner: Vladimir Skromny (sole proprietorship)
Im Gässli 19
8162 Steinmaur, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland
hello@appligent.ai
For questions about data protection or to exercise your rights, an email to the address above is sufficient. We are not required to appoint a data protection officer.
2. Scope and applicable law
This policy applies to the website appligent.ai. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where visitors access the website from the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may additionally apply; in that case we also comply with its requirements.
3. What data we process
3.1 Server log files (hosting)
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., a Microsoft Corporation company, USA). When you access the website, your browser transmits technically necessary data which the hosting provider records in log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of access
- Page or file requested
- Browser type, version and operating system
- Where applicable, the previously visited page (referrer)
This processing is technically necessary for the operation and security of the website. We do not access these log files ourselves and do not combine them with other data. Retention is governed by GitHub's own policies.
3.2 Contact form and email
The contact form on this website transmits your entries — name, company (optional), email address and message — encrypted to the form service FormSubmit (formsubmit.co, operated by Devro LABS), which forwards them to hello@appligent.ai as an email. FormSubmit acts on our behalf; processing on servers outside Switzerland and the EEA cannot be excluded. The form contains an invisible field to deter automated submissions (honeypot); no cookies are set and no third-party captcha is loaded for this. If you prefer not to use the form, you can always email us directly.
We process the data you provide solely to respond to your enquiry and to initiate any potential contractual relationship. Please do not send us sensitive personal data or confidential business secrets via the form or by email; unencrypted email is not a secure transmission channel.
3.3 Local storage in your browser
This website does not use cookies. It stores only two settings in your browser's local storage. These values remain on your device, are not transmitted to us or to third parties, and do not allow you to be identified:
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
ag-theme | Selected appearance (light, dark or system setting) |
ag-cookies | Records that the privacy notice has already been shown |
You can delete these values at any time via your browser settings. The website will continue to work unchanged; only your preferences will be reset.
3.4 Fonts
The fonts used on this website are served from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external font service, and no data is transmitted to third parties in this process.
4. What we do not do
- Only cookieless reach measurement (Cloudflare Web Analytics): no cookies, no fingerprinting, no IP addresses stored, no user profiles — only aggregated page views, referrers and device type.
- No tracking, advertising or social media pixels
- No external fonts, maps or embedded videos (fonts are self-hosted)
- No creation of user profiles and no profiling
- No automated individual decision-making
- No sale or rental of personal data to third parties
- No newsletter mailings without explicit sign-up
5. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data to provide and secure the website and to respond to enquiries. Under Swiss law, processing is based on an overriding legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website and on the initiation and performance of pre-contractual relations. Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and functional web presence) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request).
6. Disclosure to third parties and transfers abroad
We deliberately use only three external service providers: the hosting provider, a cookieless reach-measurement service (section 6a) and the form service for the contact form (section 3.2). This website embeds no other third-party content — no fonts, maps or videos. The providers are based or operate servers, among other locations, outside Switzerland and the EEA, which may result in a transfer abroad.
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub, Inc. (Microsoft) | Website hosting | IP address, access data |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Cookieless reach measurement (Web Analytics) | Aggregated page views, referrers, device type, country — no IP storage |
| FormSubmit (Devro LABS) | Forwarding of the contact form as email | Name, company, email address, message, IP address |
Transfers are based on recognised transfer mechanisms, in particular the adequacy decisions for the Swiss–U.S. and EU–U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks, or standard contractual clauses. Despite these measures, access to data by authorities in the recipient country cannot be excluded in every case.
Beyond this, we disclose personal data only where we are legally obliged to do so or where it is necessary to enforce our rights.
6a. Reach measurement (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
To measure the reach of this website we use Cloudflare Web Analytics by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The service works without cookies, without fingerprinting and without storing IP addresses; only aggregated data such as page views, referrers, device type and country are collected. We cannot attribute any of it to individual persons. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-preserving reach measurement. More information: https://www.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/ and https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
7. Retention period
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods. Email correspondence relating to enquiries that do not lead to an engagement is generally deleted no later than twelve months after the last contact. Server log files are subject to the hosting provider's retention periods.
8. Data security
The website is delivered exclusively over encrypted HTTPS. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the data we process. However, complete protection against all risks of data transmission over the internet is not possible.
9. Your rights
Within the scope of applicable law, you have in particular the following rights:
- Information about the personal data we process
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure or restriction of processing
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interests
- Release or portability of your data in a common format
- Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future
An email to hello@appligent.ai is sufficient to exercise these rights. To protect your data, we may request proof of identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Switzerland with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), and in the European Economic Area with the data protection authority responsible for you.
10. Changes to this policy
We may amend this privacy policy at any time, in particular if we extend the website with new functionality. The version published on this page is the authoritative one.
